Introducing Break Mission

By in film, Nightlight

So after a filming a few training session, Ben spoke with Justin and decided to film footage from their charity competitions. This gave us lots of footage to work with as each event lasts for a few hours and has several rounds of dancing. Not only was this content good to go into our bigger film in development it also gave us the opportunity to to create short highlight videos of the day for the charity to promote online. This was also a great way for us to experiment what would work in the final documentary.

Here is a bit more info on the charity…
The original concept of break mission was inspired by a Break Dance event held on October 9th 2010 in the Bronx (New York). Hosted by bboy ABY from The Bronx Boys Rocking Crew (TBB). Break Mission’s vision is to provide free entry to all participants and spectators attending the event. The only catch is that people must bring non perishable goods (canned foods / clothing) as their entry. The goods will then be given to a local charity organisation, currently Wood Street Mission in Manchester city centre.
This charity is not only benefiting the people who receive these donations but also it benefits the BBoy community in bringing more and less experienced and dancers together.
